Qs: 7. AR: SSSSSSSSSS
N 0:18:40. Jules disrupts Brett’s concentration when he shoots “Flock of Seagulls” while the former was rambling on. At 0:20:57, he and Vince lay their righteous vengeance upon him. SR: SSSSS
N 0:54:02. Mia discovers Vince’s stash of pure heroin and so massively overdoses, triggering a frantic search for a cure before she dies and he suffers at Marcellus’s hands in return. At first, just her right nostril starts to bleed and foamy froth comes up in her mouth as if rabid. Much to Lance’s dismay, Vince brings the imperiled Mia to his doorstep where some unlikely resuscitation takes place – namely, jamming a hypo of adrenaline straight into her heart. Now, I’m no doctor, but on the Earth we currently inhabit, she would be a cooked goose, adrenaline or otherwise. SR: SSSSS
N 1:31:40. Butch guns down Vince with his own weapon. SR: SSSSS
N 1:34:38. Butch hits Marcellus in his car and is then himself hit in a spectacular crash. While Marcellus stumbles along on one good leg, Butch pulls glass shards from his face and dodges rounds, something an unfortunate Good Samaritan couldn’t, getting hit in the shoulder. SR: SSSSS
N 1:45:14. In a strange fit of conscience, Butch arms himself with a sword and goes back to rescue Marcellus, slashing the pawn shop owner’s chest open in the process, stabbing him a final time to ensure death. At 1:46:12, Marcellus fires a shotgun right at Zed’s sensitive area, blasting it to smithereens, leaving the owner in bloody straits and much agony with an ominous promise that that’s not nearly all – the show’s just begun. SR: SSSSS
N 1:55:58. In easily the bloodiest scene, Vince accidentally blows Marvin’s head off in a gory blast that splatters the inside of the car with blood, brains and skull fragments. Surreal sequences follow of Vince and Jules in Jimmy’s apartment, wearing Marvin’s head all over them, nonchalantly sipping coffee as if they weren’t wearing the gory remains of an ex-person. They attempt, best they can, to scrub the blood and brains from the seats and collect the shards of bone scattered all about the interior and do an appreciable job for the mess they made. SR: SSSSS
N 2:10:53. You can just see Marvin’s corpse in the trunk before the lid’s abruptly shut. SR: SSSSS

Qs: 9. AR: SSSSSSSSSS
N 0:22:35. The island party becomes a massacre as Saint’s men ambush the festivities and start laying down the heavy fire on anyone who happened to be unlucky enough to be around. Frank kills a few guys, one point blank with a rifle and another he blows up by shooting the propane tank of the grill he was hiding behind. The slaughters continue right to the pier where the final murders take place, those of his wife and son, mown down where they stood. SR: SSSSS
N 1:06:54. Frank whips out a knife, which takes the gun-wielding guitar player by surprise. The knife is no ordinary weapon, however, and Frank proves this by ejecting the blade like a stone from a slingshot directly into the man’s neck. Blood spurts, and he dies. Way to go Frank. SR: SSSSS
N 1:19:25. In a fight with Gigantor, Frank throws a pot of boiling water directly in his face. The burns are incredible and undoubtedly extremely painful. Too, I would bet, was the impact that cracked his skull when he fell down the stairs. SR: SSSSS
N 1:26:52. Two of Saint’s goons, along with his precious other son, arrive to torture some info out of Bumpo and Dave. Dave redirects the inquisition to him that results in things that hurt so bad even to think about them. They are things best left to those with iron stomachs. Even then (I like to think I have one), some things just go beyond horrible. One of the interrogators picks up a pair of pliers and demands answers. I should tell you something about Dave – he has seven rings in his face: one in each ear, one in his right eyebrow, one in the nostril on the opposite side and three in his lower lip. Can you see what’s going to happen? The man grabs the one in his eyebrow and holds on for more than thirty seconds while he asks him if answers will come his way. When Dave keeps mum (hold your stomachs) he yanks it out. Going after the one in the nostril next, we are spared that and the subsequent cleansing of Dave’s face via the pliers. SR: SSSSS
N 1:29:25. Frank takes the blade from a paper cutter and embeds it in the head of a man instructed to kill him on sight. So much for that… SR: SSSSS
N 1:44:08. Frank shoots an arrow into the air and he knows where: through a man’s neck. SR: SSSSS
N 1:45:12. Frank slits a man’s throat, an arc of blood splattering on the marble wall. SR: SSSSS
N 1:46:35. Frank takes the violence to the limit with this guy: he turns his own rifle on him and blows his right foot apart at close range. Then, he breaks his arm in two places and pins his hand to his hip with a very sharp blade. The capper though is when he rams another knife up through his lower jaw and into the roof of his mouth. He’s pretty well dead by then. SR: SSSSS
N 1:50:10. He killed his way through the body to get to the brain: Howard Saint. After shooting him, Frank ties his left leg to the back bumper of his car, slaps a bomb on the trunk, shifts it in neutral and lets it drag Saint into a lot of his own vehicles that systematically go sky-high thanks to strategically placed ordnance. Saint goes up in flames along with millions in merchandise. SR: SSSSS

N 0:16:46. Investigators poke through what remains of a gory body, cleaned of flesh by… There isn’t much left to speak of in the thoracic cavity and the skull is 90% exposed, a thin coat of gruesomeness still hanging on. The coroner concludes that she was “burned” by “some type of acid” and looks much like it, essentially a pool of person in a bag. SR: SSSSS
N 0:32:50. The agent at Red Rock Estates finds another human gore pool slopped up in the corner of the garage, partially-digested organic soup splashed around half a skeleton, blood-matted hair stuck to the wall and what remains of the victim’s head. Hearing the scuffle caused by the snake throwing around the poor man, the flake he was showing the house to rushes in and does the intelligent thing – screams at the top of her lungs. That doesn’t get her anything but her head knocked off her shoulders by the beast’s tail and thrown in the agent’s lap. SR: SSSSS
N 0:45:49. A gory skull and pulp-laden bones, what remains of Kenny the Closer. SR: SSSSS
N 1:02:23. Another gross body, devoid of limbs and most of its flesh. SR: SSSSS
N 1:34:20. The snake gets caught in a trap and its belly splits open, all kinds of sloppy organs falling out. SR: SSSSS

N 0:31:17. The titular teeth bite off three of Bryan’s fingers. SR: SSSSS
N 0:52:30. JFF: cameo by Clive Barker.
N 1:05:58. Charles cuts off his left hand…that crawls away like Thing in The Addams Family. The gory stump is convincing and the blood realistic. SR: SSSSS
N 1:06:57. Len finds Charles clutching the bloody stump of his arm. SR: SSSSS
N 1:13:30. A rather silly sequence (but enjoyable) where many hospital patients with stumps for arms chase their renegade hands. SR: SSSSS
N 1:18:28. A man stabs a rouge hand with a pencil. SR: SSSSS
N 1:23:12. In a desperate but effective bid for victory, Charles feigns being the “Messiah” the hands were looking for, taking them all up to the top of a building…and jumping off. Every one of the hands, like lemmings, dutifully follow and in one of the grossest displays of sound effects technology ever used, the dozens of severed extremities dive from the height and split, splat, splot all over the street with revolting noises. The idea of dozens of self-willed hands leaping to their splattery deaths and the visible gore at the cut-off wrists earns the rating. SR: SSSSS

Qs: 11. AR: SSSSSSSSSS
N 0:01:50. Shortly after he was honored at a special ceremony, Lieut. Boyd appears leery about eating a plate of meat before him. As he reluctantly started to cut into it, flashbacks struck of him trapped beneath “debris”, blood running from his mouth into pools on the ground. SR: SSSSS
N 0:10:14. We see during another flashback what was pinning Lieut. Boyd and what was bleeding onto the ground with him – piles of the dead bodies of his fellow soldiers, pieces, parts and whole corpses, all stacked on enemy territory, ready for burial. SR: SSSSS
N 0:29:03. Reich tends to a nasty wound on Toffler’s side. SR: SSSSS
N 0:37:00. Reich investigates a cave and after stumbling over the clothing of and examining the skull of a man on the ground, his lantern highlights a horrifying, startling discovery: five bodies trussed up by their ankles from the ceiling, the bones still gleaming with redness, traces of blood and gore hanging on, grisly indications of the prior happenings. SR: SSSSS
N 0:42:10. Reich and Boyd come upon Toffler, chest torn wide open. SR: SSSSS
N 0:46:48. After his world-record jump and astonishing survival of said jump, Boyd goes to move and hears a disabling crunch of a broken bone. He looks down at his right leg and one of the bones was indeed broken, protruding from the pants leg. SR: SSSSS
N 1:02:29. It’s only a vision, but Boyd thinks of attacking Cleaves, cutting his heart out and eating it while his “victim” laughs maniacally. SR: SSSSS
N 1:10:40. Martha, searching for Cleaves, finds all of their horses cut to pieces, dripping blood all over the hay floor. When she runs to summon Capt. Knox, blood starts dripping onto her face from something above their room. When he goes around to investigate, he and Martha discover what they were looking for: Cleaves’ body bleeding steadily, lying atop the cabin. SR: SSSSS
N 1:16:51. Col. Ives hacks away at Knox’s body, carving it up for the stew. SR: SSSSS
N 1:26:10. Boyd slits Hart’s throat, as per his request. Blood splashes across the window and pools on the floor as it spurts from between his fingers, his life slowly going with it. SR: SSSSS
N 1:29:05. Boyd and Ives have an interesting battle: Ives hits Boyd three times with a log, preparing to stab him with his knife. Boyd is faster and jams the tines of a pitchfork into Ives’ gut, forcing them in further. Ives blocks the next shot intended for his head and retaliates with three upward stabs straight into Boyd’s chest. When he gets knocked to the ground, he finds a cleaver handily available and so strikes with it into Ives’ left arm. Taken off-guard, Ives is powerless to defend himself as Boyd hefts a much bigger and heavier log than the one he was hit with earlier and cracks him in the nose with it, continuing to hammer him while he was down. Ives seems to gain the upper hand again when he jams his blade into Boyd’s back, the latter leaving it there while he staggers away, the roof falling in on Ives, detaining him temporarily. Ives later catches up with Boyd in an adjacent barn, forcibly pulling his blade from his back. Before he can strike again, however, Boyd takes control and forces him down onto a very large bear trap and uses his head to trigger it, the toothy jaws slamming down on he and Ives simultaneously. A crane shot pulls back to show the bloody expanse that the hay beneath them had become in Boyd’s final bid to stop the wendigo. SR: SSSSS

N 0:01:50. As soon as it begins, worried doctors and policemen converge outside an office wherein some clear problem is occurring. When they break in, they find Dr. West, with a needle in his hand, looking over a convulsing man. Dragged away, Dr. West watches as his subject rises with heart-stopping screams, screams which get worse as his skin ruptures in places and his eyes enlarge and explode before he collapses and dies. SR: SSSSS
N 0:14:43. Dr. Hill demonstrates how to skin a human head “like a large orange” which he does by making an incision at the base of the skull and pulling the skin up over the face. He then produces a bone saw and cuts away a small part of the skull thus revealing the gooey brain. SR: SSSSS
N 0:27:31. Dead kitty II. At 0:30:20 the broken and destroyed body comes back to life for the second time, screeching and howling. SR: SSSSS
N 0:39:58. Mr. Halsey tries to stop West’s first reanimated human corpse from strangling him, only to have it bite off and spit out two of his fingers. West then starts up the bone saw and runs it through the man’s body, straight through the heart, and out the chest. SR: SSSSS
N 0:55:15. West loses control (further) and chops Hill’s head off with a shovel. He impales it upon a memo spike (really) and proceeds to inject both it and the body separately. Both reanimate and while the head impugns him, the body slams his face into the desk. Afterward, Hill’s body ferries around his head, which hisses from either a metal tray or from the helping hands of his body. SR: SSSSS
N 1:13:20. “I have plans,” indeed. Hill reveals his hand as a roomful of revivified corpses sit up simultaneously. One pulls its endotracheal tubes from its throat, a nasty gunshot victim (half his face blown off), a burn victim and sundry other strange cases arise and cause trouble. SR: SSSSS
N 1:16:07. Coming to the aid of his country (well, to Dan), Allen picks up Hill’s head and squeezes it, gouging out the eyes, continuing to press it until it crushes completely, throwing the pile of mush out into the hall. For unexplained reasons, Hill’s intestines launch out at West and envelop him while the rest of Carl’s organs explode and pour from the ruptured chest cavity. SR: SSSSS
N Expanded to 4 for the general idea of reanimating corpses and the ensuing melee that closes this odd but classic sci-fi feature.

N 0:07:30. Just as Agent Graham figures out who Hannibal is (the man he’s been searching for), the good doctor plunges a knife into him under his ribs on the left side and holds it there, trying to talk him into dying painlessly. As he slips to the ground, Hannibal tells him which organ of his he would like to eat first: his heart. Before he gets much further, Agent Graham picks up a quiver of arrows knocked over when he fell and jams them into his chest, leaving him to stagger backwards in surprise. Determined, Dr. Lecter heads for Agent Graham again, still with the same ravenous look in his eye. Luckily for Will, he could reach his gun that he used to shoot Hannibal twice in the chest. So ended Hannibal’s carnivorous reign and began his eight-year prison sentence. SR: SSSSS
N 0:18:17. Agent Graham turns on a light at the Leeds house and sees the crime scene that was the end of the family’s time together. Blood is soaked into the mattress and the carpet and streaked all up on the headboard, the wall behind and the lamp alongside. As he gets closer, the scene appears worse and we can see the amount of blood staining the mattress is greater than it first appeared. As he walks himself through his scenario of how the family died that night, we can see drag marks where Mrs. Leeds was taken down the hallway. In the children’s bedroom, we see giant red blotches marking their place at their last moments. SR: SSSSS
N 0:20:53. Agent Graham has spread around him an array of crime scene photos, the bulk of which are of the parents’ bedroom and their bodies as discovered by the investigators. SR: SSSSS
N 0:21:55. We get a haunting insight into the killer’s mind when an idea graces Agent Graham: a quick shot reveals the significantly bloodied husband’s shirt and pans down to the wife who has pieces of broken mirror in place of her eyes, the scene looking quite spooky. SR: SSSSS
N 0:22:34. The killer removes one of his bloody gloves so he could touch Mrs. Leeds. SR: SSSSS
N 1:15:54. “Mrs. Jacobi reborn. Do you see? Mrs. Leeds reborn. Do you see?” The Tooth Fairy shows Lounds slides of the women with mirror shards on their eyes after he killed them. SR: SSSSS
N 1:18:04. The Tooth Fairy takes a bite out of Lounds’ mouth, spitting out a tooth, his lips covered with the reporter’s blood. Later, a terrible sight races down the hilly street before the Tattler Building: a flaming body glued to a wheelchair. It hits a car, tumbles over and skids down the declination, coming to rest just before the company’s brick sign. SR: SSSSS
N 1:49:11. Blood spatters Reba’s face when a shotgun blast kills a man just in front of her. Shocked and horrified at what she’s pretty sure happened, she crawls up to him and feels his face, most of which isn’t there, what is burned by the explosion. SR: SSSSS
N 1:56:45. A short knife fight and shootout sheds blood – I won’t say whose. SR: SSSSS
N The “original” film Manhunter, the first made from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, has only three B & G scenes – at 0:10:55 when Will Graham flicks on the lights in the crime scene at the Leeds’ house in their red-soaked bedroom; 0:34:14 when a little girl looks over and accidentally glimpses several graphic photos of the murders and at 1:01:05 when Lounds’ wheelchair is set aflame.
